I did not need this

GW had to go and redesign Dark Eldar to look cool. I think my fantasy High Elves are going to have to wait. The sexy future evil elves are cutting in line.

I ran my first tournament yesterday. I think it went well. I at least haven't seen any internet posts about how awful a job I did. That has to count for something right?

  1. I hear you on the DE. I am liking them a whole lot.

You know those Indy guys are pretty nice. I'm looking forward to the writeups on their adventures. I am sure you did a great job!

  2. I have my criticisms about the tournament, which I will elaborate on in a later post, but I think you deserve a big kudos for running a tournament in the first place. Just know that the small things that I had issues with did not keep me from having a good time, and are intended to have a better event next time.

I saw just how hard it is to keep everything running smoothly when I ran my first tournament earlier this year, and to try and do it by yourself was a very large task. There was certainly room to improve, but you did a great job.

  3. I only got handed the tournament a few weeks ago and didn't get to do many things exactly like I wanted to.

The tournament was originally supposed to be run by the store, but then got handed to the club. The details where set by Aaron, but then I got drafted to run it. I would have done parings and missions differently if given the opportunity.

Plus I was running late that day due to my wife's car trouble, and wasn't able to prepare the sportsmanship and painting competitions well enough.

I think I should have done two and a half hours for the rounds, with a 45 minute break after the first round. I should have also done painting and sportsmanship per team and not individual. I did it the way I did because I didn't want someone to be punished because of their partner. I did't organize that aspect of the tournament very well.

  4. You did very well Greg! I believe you handled all the situations like an expert. The only thing I wasn't happy about was being paired with 3 fateweavers!! COME ON MAN!!!!!!!! LOL. :)
